Isaiah 41:8-10, 8 But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Descendant of Abraham My friend, 9 You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth and called from its remotest parts, and said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not rejected you. 10 Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will also help you, I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Steven Dac Vuong was born July 2, 1979, in Fort Smith, AR,
to Khanh Vuong and Nancy Vuong.
After an exhausting fight against a cruel enemy known as renal cell carcinoma,
he was ushered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on
December 12, 2025, at 4:25 PM.
He was surrounded by loving family and friends. He is home.
Steven is survived by his wife of 19 years, Rebekah Erin Perry-Vuong and their
five wonderful children: Caroline, Isaiah, Phoebe, Evelyn Margot, and Elizabeth
Vuong. He is also survived by his father Khanh Vuong (wife Nga Vu), his mother
Nancy Vuong, and sister Quyen Scott (husband Corey Scott) and their children:
Skylar, Parker, Jaidyn; and a host of family and friends.
In January 2010, Steven began his ministry as Associate Pastor of Worship and Administration at Christ Church. He was a discipler of men. He loved all things outdoors from camping, hammocking, to hunting and fishing. He was a collector of watches and other manly things. He mastered the skills of hunting poisonous snakes and curing their hides for hat bands. He loved music and leading worship. He was an extraordinary worship-leader because he simply worshiped Jesus himself. He drew us to the throne of God by example. He loved Jesus. He is loving Jesus. He is worshiping Jesus now.
One of Steven’s last confessions of faith was found in the
words of the Apostle Paul, who said,
“18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth,
Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice. But not only that, I also
will rejoice, 19 for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance
through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus
Christ, 20 according to my eager expectation and hope, that
I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all
boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my
body, whether by life or by death.”
